Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport opened in 1974 and at the time the largest and most expensive airport in the world, DFW Airport is located between the two cities of Dallas and Fort Worth and the surrounding suburbs of Grapevine, Euless, Irving, and Southlake. Downtown Dallas is located about 35 kilometers southeast and Fort Worth about 36 kilometers southwest of the airport site.

TRE shuttle buses regularly stop at airport terminals A-E on weekdays, and bus route #803 takes passengers to DFW station/Centreport, located to the South. From there the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) runs in two directions, either to Dallas Union Station in Downtown Dallas, from there the Amtrak route “Texas Eagle” (Chicago-Los Angeles) or to ITC or T & P Station in Downtown Fort Worth. From the Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) also runs the Amtrak Route “Texas Eagle” as well as the Amtrak Route “Heartland Flyer” (Fort Worth-Oklahoma City). Furthermore, the airport shuttle buses stop regularly at Terminals A-E, the bus routes #801-804 go either north to the “North Remote” parking lots, there is a connection to the local bus route #310 to the North Irving Transit Center or south to the “South Remote” parking lots, from there, there is a connection to the bus route #408 of the DART, which goes to the South Irving Station Otherwise, the “AIRPORTER” also drives regularly from the Airport parking to Downtown.
