Newark Airport (EWR)

Newark Airport is a civilian airport located 25 kilometers from New York City in Newark, New Jersey. It is the fifth largest airport in the United States in terms of international air traffic. The route network of the airport includes domestic and international destinations in South and Central America, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region. About 35 million passengers use the airport’s services annually.
Also, Newark Liberty International Airport is the tenth busiest airport in the US overall and the fifth busiest airport in the country in terms of international air traffic. The airport is served by 50 carriers and is the third-largest hub for United Airlines, which is the airport’s largest tenant.
Liberty International Airport has its own domestic location — it’s just 14 miles west of the core of the Big Apple, easy access by public transportation. In addition, the airport offers a dense network of intra-American connecting flights, namely from US industry giant United. 401 Flights of this group take place daily in Newark, 220 of the “Mainline” and 181 of regional subsidiaries. 71 destinations are served there.

Runways

EWR airport covers 820 hectares. With its three runways with lengths of 2050, 3050, and 3350 meters, Newark manages around 460,000 flight movements per year. According to the airport company, the number of passengers is increasing, while the number of flight movements is decreasing, thanks to ever larger and ever better used aircraft. For this purpose, international traffic is growing, which requires additional entry and exit lanes during handling and separation from domestic operations.

Helipad

A separate EWR airport helipad serves helicopter traffic, especially on the main route to the Wall Street Heliport in southern Manhattan. On the land side, the “AirTrain Newark” cable car takes passengers to the airport regional train station, where two important regional train lines stop and from where you can get on to New York’s Penn Station by suburban train.

EWR Terminals

Newark International Airport operates three terminals for passenger service: A, B, and C. For easily navigating the airport and the surrounding area, it is enough to follow the signs that will lead to the right place.
